Ephesus is the ancient archeological site that is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, which also borders a lot of Ephesus Hotel in the area. The area, the town is named Selcuk, a small township of Izmir which is the third biggest city in Turkey. It attracts a lot of tourists internationally, a lot of people tend to visit daily from neighboring towns such as Kusadasi or the center of Izmir – however, if the tourist wants to stay in Selcuk and thoroughly explore the ancient points of Ephesus, they need to stay in a hotel. They can either stay in Selcuk or Sirince, an equally touristy hill-top village that is famous for its flavored wine.
Between these two options, Selcuk is the more budget-friendly one, mainly because there are little attractions in the center of the town. Most of the people who come to Selcuk visit Ephesus and/or Sirince, not Selcuk itself. So, a Selcuk Hotel might be a better option for a budget traveler, but the attractions should be considered. Another thing to mention is that Selcuk is in the middle of Sirince and Ephesus, so it might be a better location geographically too.
Sirince, however, offers many more attractions compared to Selcuk. It is a charming village on the top of a hill, so it creates a lot of tourist potential for the village too. If a tourist wants to stay in a Sirince Hotel they can both enjoy the archeological beauty of Ephesus and the village of Sirince. It might be a better option for a group of tourists that want to spend their holiday in a unique, calm, and fun place. The only downside of Sirince would be the location because it requires personal transportation to go down to Selcuk and Ephesus. However, there is an option for public transportation too.
